Overview
- Universal conducted the first on-track launch test on Oct. 16, sending a four-car train from 0 to 72 mph along a 4,100-foot hillside course before the park opened.
- The attraction is designed with 360-degree rotating vehicles and a state-of-the-art ride system that Universal describes as featuring first-of-its-kind innovations.
- Attractions Magazine reports the 72 mph top speed would make it the fastest coaster in the Universal Destinations & Experiences portfolio when it opens.
- Ride vehicles are themed to Fast & Furious cars, including a replica of Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger, with guests entering through a red brick auto-repair garage on the Upper Lot.
- Universal says the project includes sound-reduction measures such as track enclosures intended to lessen noise for nearby residential neighborhoods.
