Overview
- Atari partnered with Entertainment 360 to grant Universal Pictures a first-look right covering ten classic Atari properties, a deal reported July 23, 2026 that also resulted in Universal purchasing the first film project.
- The ten properties named for priority development are Asteroids, Adventure, Berzerk, Breakout, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Millipede, Missile Command, Pong and Yars’ Revenge.
- The initial feature springs from an original spec screenplay by Matt Reilly and Carl Hampe, with Entertainment 360 producer Guymon Casady attached and Reilly and Hampe also credited as producers.
- The arrangement is a first-look pact rather than an outright sale and Atari is represented in the transaction by IAG and Vanderkloot Law while Universal declined to comment.
- Atari and the creative team say the films will aim for large-scale action-adventure storytelling that leverages five decades of nostalgia, but no production schedule, release dates or casting have been announced yet.
