Universal Pulls Jordan Peele’s Next Film From 2026 Slate

The project remains in development without a start to filming.

  • Universal removed the untitled Peele feature from its schedule, where it had been set for Oct. 23, 2026.
  • The film was originally planned for a Dec. 25, 2024 release before strike-related delays shifted it to a Halloween 2026 date.
  • Sources say Peele is actively developing the follow-up to Nope, though principal photography has not begun.
  • Focus Features filled that corridor with Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, which earned $181.7 million worldwide.
  • Universal declined to comment and representatives for Peele did not immediately respond, as he continues producing Justin Tipping’s sports-horror Him set for Sept. 19.
