Universal Credit claimants begin receiving 1.7% uplift in June payments

DWP’s annual uprating is being paid between June 1 and 12, boosting monthly allowances with new support and discounts worth up to £10,360.

Overview

  • Standard Universal Credit allowances have been uprated by 1.7%, now set at £316.98 for single under-25s, £400.14 for single 25-over, £497.55 for joint claimants under 25 and £628.10 for joint claimants aged 25 or older.
  • Payments reflecting the increase are being disbursed in arrears from June 1 through June 12, depending on each claimant’s assessment period start date.
  • Claimants can access up to £10,360 in additional June support and discounts, including council tax relief, energy bill assistance, Healthy Start vouchers and free NHS prescriptions.
  • The Department for Work and Pensions is migrating remaining legacy benefits onto Universal Credit and aims to complete the process by January 2026.
  • Universal Credit recipients must report any changes in income, address or living circumstances promptly to the DWP to ensure correct payment levels and avoid repayment requirements.
