Overview
- United’s inaugural Starlink mainline service is scheduled for Oct. 15 as Flight 2940 from Newark to Houston on a Boeing 737-800 with two antennas.
- The same aircraft is slated to continue as Flight 365 to Fort Lauderdale and Flight 445 back to Houston later in the day.
- Installations on 737-800s are ramping to as many as 15 aircraft per month following September’s FAA supplemental type certificate.
- Starlink connectivity will be complimentary for MileagePlus customers with gate-to-gate access on personal devices and seatback screens.
- United says additional aircraft types are targeted for certification by year-end, building on a regional fleet where more than half of Embraer 175s already carry Starlink capable of up to 250 Mbps from a network of over 7,600 satellites.
