United Football League Prepares for 2025 Season Launch

The United Football League (UFL), formed in 2024 through the merger of the USFL and XFL, is entering its second season with no changes to team locations or structure.
The 2025 season begins on March 28 with a game between the St. Louis Battlehawks and Houston Roughnecks, and concludes with the championship on June 14, airing on ABC and ESPN+.
All eight teams from the inaugural season return, with the Birmingham Stallions entering as defending champions under head coach Skip Holtz.
Seven of the eight head coaches from 2024 are returning, with Ken Whisenhunt stepping in as the new head coach for the Memphis Showboats.
The UFL continues to explore potential expansion for future seasons while maintaining its focus on player and coach development as a feeder system for the NFL.
