Overview
- The Philadelphia Department of Public Health issued a Cease Operations Order on Sept. 29 following an inspection that found imminent health hazards at the Terminal C lounge.
- Violations included fly activity in the bar and men’s restroom, inadequate hot water at a food-prep sink, nonworking sanitizer and detergent dispensers, and no city-certified food safety manager on site.
- The order mandates at least 48 hours of closure, payment of an administrative fee, and a successful reinspection before the lounge can reopen.
- As of Wednesday, the lounge remained shut while United worked on remediation with its service provider Sodexo.
- United said affected United Club members are being offered $25 vouchers, and city records show five inspections since early 2024 with several repeat issues, some corrected during the latest visit.
