Overview

  • Blue Sky begins this fall, linking United MileagePlus with JetBlue TrueBlue for reciprocal mile earning and redemption.
  • Elite-tier members will receive cross-carrier perks including priority check-in, boarding, seat selection and a free checked bag.
  • Both airlines will list each other’s flights on their websites and mobile apps to enable seamless cross-carrier booking.
  • As part of a longer-term phase, United will secure up to seven daily round-trip slots at JFK from 2027 and both carriers will swap Newark flight times to enhance regional service.
  • The partnership follows American Airlines’ lawsuit over cost-sharing in the former Northeast Alliance and builds on MileagePlus’s recent accolade as the world’s best airline loyalty program.
