Beginning Sept. 15, travelers can book single-ticket itineraries that link United and ITA flights, expanding connections between the U.S. and Italy. Volare and MileagePlus members will earn and redeem miles on either carrier, with eligible elites gaining lounge access and United confirming status points and segments on ITA flights. ITA will place its AZ code on select United routes to DFW, DEN and IAH, while United adds its UA code to ITA flights to FLR, CTA and TRN, with gateways including BOS, ORD, IAD, BRU, FRA and FCO. United updated its partner page to enable MileagePlus earning and redemption on ITA starting Sept. 8, ahead of the full codeshare launch. As ITA transitions away from former SkyTeam ties, its Virgin Atlantic frequent-flyer partnership ends Nov. 18, 2025, following earlier wind-downs with Delta and Korean Air.
