United Airlines Accelerates Rollout of Free Starlink Wi-Fi for Flights

The airline plans to begin testing next month, with its first Starlink-equipped commercial flight expected this spring and full regional fleet integration by the end of 2025.

United Airlines has partnered with SpaceX's Starlink to provide free high-speed satellite Wi-Fi for all MileagePlus loyalty program members, which is free to join.
Testing is set to begin in February 2025, with the first commercial flight featuring Starlink connectivity on an Embraer E-175 regional jet anticipated in spring 2025.
The airline aims to equip its entire two-cabin regional fleet with Starlink by the end of 2025 and introduce its first mainline aircraft with the technology before the year concludes.
Starlink Wi-Fi will support streaming, gaming, video calls, and other high-bandwidth activities, offering gate-to-gate connectivity and a seamless in-flight experience.
United plans to eventually upgrade its entire fleet of nearly 1,000 planes to Starlink, positioning itself as a leader in in-flight connectivity among major U.S. carriers.
