Overview

  • The NYC Uniformed Forces Coalition 2025 will formally endorse Mayor Eric Adams’s independent reelection bid at a City Hall press conference on Thursday.
  • The coalition includes the Detectives’ Endowment Association, the Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association, the Correction Captains’ Association and unions for assistant deputy wardens and deputy wardens.
  • The Police Benevolent Association, the NYPD’s largest union, declined to join the slate and will pursue its own endorsement process.
  • This marks Adams’s first significant labor backing for his independent campaign after polling more than 20 points behind Mamdani and facing federal corruption charges.
  • The endorsements aim to strengthen Adams’s position against Mamdani and other independent contenders, including Andrew Cuomo, ahead of the November general election.
