Overview
- Unidentified drones targeted radar installations at Iraq’s Taji military base north of Baghdad and at the Imam Ali airbase in Dhi Qar province in the early hours of June 24.
- Both attacks inflicted material damage on radar equipment but caused no reported casualties, Iraqi officials confirmed.
- The drone strikes followed Iran’s missile assault on a US military facility in Qatar, which was itself retaliation for US bombardment of Tehran’s nuclear sites.
- President Trump’s declaration of a “complete and total ceasefire” between Israel and Iran has yet to halt further attacks in the region.
- Iraq has closed its airspace due to the conflict and is calling on all parties to refrain from expanding hostilities on its territory.
