Overview

• The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday in Mehrower Allee when a 24-year-old woman wearing a Hidschab was racially insulted.
• The assailant spat in the victim’s face, struck her with a shoe and repeatedly threw her bag to the ground.
• A 22-year-old companion and a 27-year-old friend were also attacked when they attempted to intervene.
• After the altercation the unknown woman fled the scene without being detained.
• The Landeskriminalamt Berlin is leading the investigation to identify the suspect and determine potential hate-crime charges.
