UND Great Jim Kleinsasser Inducted Into College Football Hall of Fame

The former North Dakota tight end becomes only the program's second member of the national hall.

  • Kleinsasser was enshrined in Las Vegas late Tuesday as part of the 2025 class, which features 18 players and four coaches.
  • He starred at UND from 1995–98, earning multiple All-America honors and First Team All-North Central Conference selections in 1996–98.
  • His college career included 88 receptions for 1,309 yards and 10 touchdowns, two Division II playoff trips, a 1995 NCC title, 42 consecutive starts, and a 1999 Senior Bowl start.
  • Drafted 44th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 1999, he played through 2011 and remains the school's highest NFL draft pick.
  • The class includes Michael Vick, Michael Strahan, Urban Meyer and Nick Saban, and the NFF notes only 1,111 players and 237 coaches have been inducted out of nearly 5.8 million participants.
