UNC Football Player Tylee Craft Passes Away at 23 After Cancer Battle

Tylee Craft was diagnosed with Stage 4 large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in March 2022, which had spread to his lungs, liver, and spine.
Despite his diagnosis, Craft remained actively involved with the UNC football team as a student coach and pursued his master's degree.
The Tar Heels honored Craft during their Cancer Awareness Game against Georgia Tech, with tributes including wearing his jersey number.
Head coach Mack Brown announced Craft's passing after the game, emphasizing his spirit and positivity during his two-and-a-half-year battle.
Craft was recognized for his inspirational journey with accolades such as the Disney Spirit Award and being part of the Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion Team.
