Overview

  • At least 10 UNAM faculties, schools and preparatory units are in partial or total stoppage, preventing a full return to normal operations.
  • The Faculty of Architecture is under a total, indefinite work stoppage, with custody of facilities assigned to the administration and a meeting set for Oct. 15 to deliver formal responses to the student petition.
  • The Faculty of Medicine ratified online classes starting Oct. 13, created a follow-up commission, and will require official ID from anyone submitting petitions to verify that they belong to the faculty community.
  • Around 30 hooded individuals reportedly attempted a violent takeover of Medicine, with initial reports indicating most were not members of the university community.
  • The Faculty of Chemistry continues undergraduate classes online after recent digital and bomb threats, Preparatoria 8 remains closed following threats and a takeover, and UNAM reported no new bomb threats on Oct. 13.
