Overview
- The fair runs August 26–31 at UNAM’s Centro de Congresos y Exposiciones, with more than 350 publishers from 16 countries and an editorial offer exceeding 25,000 titles, including 96,000 copies.
- The University of Chile brings a delegation of about 120 participants slated for around 80 activities, with figures such as Michelle Bachelet among the announced guests.
- Organizers set thematic axes that include gender and feminisms, human rights and culture of peace, Latin America past and present, indigenous cultures, and a Chile–Mexico seismic memory focus titled Tierra en movimiento.
- Program adjustments were confirmed, including the cancellation of Chilean poet Raúl Zurita’s participation, and the Rubén Bonifaz Nuño editorial career recognition went to Ana Isabel González González, received in her absence by María Isabel Cabrera.
- UNAM marked 60 years of its publications directorate with a coedition on Gabriela Mistral curated by Lina Meruane in collaboration with the Fondo de Cultura Económica, and it also reported donating nearly 140,000 books to about 35,000 incoming students.
