Overview
- The seminar titled “Universidad y Reforma. Una constante histórica” opened on August 15 under the direction of Rector Leonardo Lomelí.
- Organized by the Coordinación de Reforma Institucional y Prospectiva Universitaria, it brings together scholars from UNAM, El Colegio de México and UAM.
- Sessions will convene every Friday through November 21 to examine institutional frameworks, governance models, participation mechanisms and core university functions.
- Coordinator Hugo Casanova described UNAM as facing a critical juncture between its intellectual heritage and the drive for modern ideas.
- Participants will trace the university’s evolution from colonial antecedents through contemporary debates to develop an evidence-based reform agenda.
