UNAM and Carlos Slim Foundation Launch Nutritional Support Program for Students

The initiative provides daily QR-coded meal tickets to academically irregular students facing economic hardship to improve retention.

Overview

  • Students can apply via the Sistema Integra platform until August 12, with plantel nominations due by August 14 and results set for August 21.
  • Up to 8,500 students in the general cycle and 1,500 at El Pabellón will receive QR-coded tickets for a free breakfast or meal on school days.
  • Eligibility requires enrollment in semester 2026-1, academic irregularity or a GPA of 7.99 or below, household income under six minimum wages, valid contact information, and plantel nomination.
  • Priority selection will favor applicants with no other scholarships, higher economic vulnerability, and those in physical-mathematical, engineering, biological, chemical or health science fields.
  • The program, backed by UNAM, Fundación Telmex Telcel and Fundación Carlos Slim, aims to mitigate food insecurity and reduce dropout rates.
