- The UN’s 2025 survey estimates opium poppy fields in Myanmar expanded 17% year over year to 53,100 hectares, the highest level since 2015.
- Estimated dry-opium output reached 1,010 metric tonnes in 2025, more than double Afghanistan’s post-ban production and the highest known share globally.
