UMSNH Sets Posthumous Homage for María Guadalupe Morales Ledesma on Nov. 24

  • Morales Ledesma died Sunday at age 76 after roughly 50 years training generations of lawyers at UMSNH’s law faculty.
  • Her career included roles as alumna, professor, university counselor, head of the university human-rights office, director of the state pension institute, director general of SMRTV, federal deputy, and civil court magistrate who later served as substitute president of Michoacán’s judiciary.
  • The Colegio de Abogadas de Michoacán created the ‘Lic. María Guadalupe Morales Ledesma’ medal this year, first awarded to Dr. Morelia Peña Belmonte.
