Uma Reddy Takes Charge as FKCCI's First Woman President

  • Reddy assumed office on September 27 in Bengaluru, becoming the 92nd president of the 108-year-old chamber founded by Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

  • Reddy is managing director of Hitech Magnetics and Electronics and brings over three decades in manufacturing power-electronic wound components, a field with limited female representation.
  • FKCCI represents more than 5,000 direct members and nearly 200 associations, with about 200,000 indirect members, in a state contributing roughly 8–9% of India’s GDP and hosting 400+ Fortune 500 firms.
  • At the induction event, Karnataka’s chief secretary cited ₹50,000 crore in support for 1.2 lakh women over two years and urged FKCCI to help create 1.2 lakh entrepreneurs and adopt government educational institutions.
