  • On July 25, Kanjilal became the first woman to lead IGNOU since its founding in 1985.
  • She served as Pro Vice Chancellor from March 2021 to July 2024 after holding posts from University Librarian to director of online education.
  • A professor of Library and Information Science since 2003, she is recognized for expertise in e-learning, ICT in libraries and multimedia courseware development.
  • As National Coordinator for SWAYAM and SWAYAM PRABHA, she has overseen the Ministry of Education’s flagship digital learning initiatives.
