Ultraviolette Delays Shockwave to Q1 2027

The company is switching the bike to a 100V electrical design to raise power delivery, improve thermal management and speed charging.

Overview

  • Ultraviolette confirmed Tuesday that the Shockwave’s public introduction has been pushed to the first quarter of 2027 and that the Tesseract shares the same revised timetable.
  • Both models will adopt a new 100V electrical architecture that Ultraviolette says is intended to boost peak power, reduce heat build-up in the powertrain and enable faster charging.
  • Work has begun to set up a dedicated Shockwave production line at Ultraviolette’s Hosur facility, and the bike will be offered in single-seat and dual-seat variants.
  • Technical figures and prices shown at the March 2025 unveiling are now reference-only and Ultraviolette says final range, performance, battery specs and pricing will be confirmed closer to launch.
  • The company recently raised about $85 million with investor and adviser participation from Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, funding Ultraviolette says will support factory scale-up and further product development.
