ULFA (I) Cadre Killed in Namsai Operation as Multi-Agency Hunt Intensifies

  • Indian Army and Assam Rifles engaged suspected ULFA (I) cadres in the MS-6 area of Namsai during a night search operation.
  • After daybreak, forces recovered the body of self-styled Sergeant Major Iwon Axom from the encounter site.
  • The defence PRO said a rifle, an RPG round and three rucksacks were seized, while police reported an HK-series rifle, a grenade and three bags.
