UK's Net Zero Economy Grows 10%, Adding £83 Billion in 2024

The net zero sector grew three times faster than the overall UK economy in 2024, contributing £83.1 billion in gross value added (GVA).
Nearly a million full-time jobs are now supported by the net zero economy, with wages averaging £43,000, significantly above the national average.
Regions like the West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, and Scotland are emerging as key hubs for green industry growth, aiding regional economic development.
The sector's productivity is 38% higher than the UK average, and it has attracted £23 billion in public, private, and foreign investment in 2024.
The report underscores the alignment of economic growth with climate action, despite political criticism and calls for more robust government support for green initiatives.
