Overview
- The coach at Swindon & Cricklade Railway will host its first public screenings in 37 years.
- It seats 25 and will be static for the event, showing British Transport Films on a rebuilt 1970s Bell & Howell projector.
- Restoration since 2019 included repanelling, rewiring, repainting, a raked floor, a new speaker system, and vintage seats salvaged from a Deptford cinema.
- Opened by Princess Margaret in 1975 as part of a travelling rail exhibition, the carriage later became a meeting room at a Bristol depot.
- Admission to the screenings is free with railway entry, and organisers say showings on the move may be possible in future.
