Overview
- Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will attend the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting on November 11–12 in the Niagara region of Ontario at the invitation of Canada’s Anita Anand.
- Sybiha aims to secure increased backing against Russian aggression, including tougher sanctions, full use of frozen Russian assets, and investment in Ukraine’s defense-industrial base and institutions.
- He will join sessions with G7, the European Union and partner countries focused on defense cooperation, maritime security, and strengthening energy and economic resilience.
- Scheduled diplomacy includes a Ukraine–France–Germany–Italy ministerial format and bilateral talks with counterparts from the Republic of Korea, Japan, Brazil and India.
- Germany said it has provided €9 billion in military aid to Ukraine this year and will add €40 million in humanitarian support for the winter; Ukrinform earlier reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to speak on a presidential peace initiative.
