Ukraine Unit Says Drone Destroyed Rare Russian IMR-3M Engineering Vehicle

Ukraine’s drone units are targeting high-value support vehicles to chip away at Russia’s equipment advantage.

Overview

  • The 412th Nemesis Regiment released undated footage showing a drone-dropped munition striking an IMR-3M, with the location withheld and the material not independently verified.
  • The regiment said it is only the third visually confirmed loss of this vehicle since 2022, with Oryx recording earlier destructions on April 4, 2022 and January 28, 2024.
  • The IMR-3M is a roughly 50-ton engineering and obstacle-clearing vehicle built on a T-90 chassis with CBRN reconnaissance gear and heavy clearing equipment.
  • Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) separately reported drones destroyed three Mi-8 helicopters and a radar station in occupied Crimea the same day, a claim that has not been independently confirmed.
  • Crimea’s Russia-installed leader reported a deadly drone strike in the Foros resort area, while HUR said special units also struck two Be-12 aircraft in Crimea.
