Ukraine Strikes Tuapse Oil Terminal and Saratov as Fighting Rages in Pokrovsk

Kyiv uses drone attacks on energy sites to constrict Russia’s war financing.

Overview

  • Regional authorities in Krasnodar reported damage at Tuapse, saying two foreign civilian ships and terminal infrastructure were hit during a Ukrainian drone attack and fires were later extinguished.
  • The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed drone attacks in Saratov, with airport operations restricted for more than six hours, as social media posts showed explosions near a refinery previously targeted in September.
  • Heavy urban combat continues in Pokrovsk, where several hundred Russian troops breached the centre but face vulnerable supply lines; Ukraine has deployed HUR and SBU special units, and commanders Oleksandr Syrskyi and Kyrylo Budanov are on site.
  • Russian missile and drone strikes continued across Ukraine, with regional officials reporting one person killed and three injured in Sumy, damage and a casualty in Dnipro, and a supermarket fire in Mykolaiv.
  • Ukraine says its Patriot air-defence coverage has expanded with German support, while U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated he is not providing Tomahawk cruise missiles at this time.
