Overview

  • The 1st Azov Corps of the National Guard took over defense of the Pokrovsk–Dobropillia sector on August 12 to block deep Russian incursions.
  • General Staff spokesman Andrii Kovalov said the Commander-in-Chief allocated extra forces and resources to bolster defenses in the area.
  • Ukraine reported 151 Russian occupiers killed, more than 70 wounded and eight taken prisoner in Azov Corps operations over two days.
  • Open-source analysts warn that Russian small-unit infiltrations of up to 15 kilometers and FPV drone strikes by the Rubicon Center still threaten Ukrainian positions.
  • Chronic manpower shortages and diminished drone coverage leave Ukraine vulnerable to renewed Russian pressure despite recent stabilization.
