- The strike targeted the bridge area and destroyed the ship’s electronic warfare equipment, leaving the vessel inoperative with costly repairs expected, according to the DIU.
- Officials described the MPSV07’s capabilities as including diving complexes, remotely operated vehicles, side-scan sonar and electronic warfare systems; the ship was commissioned in 2015 and is valued at about $60 million.
- Ukraine and media reports say Russia operates four ships of this class for intelligence gathering in the Black Sea.
- The U.N. Security Council called an emergency meeting after Poland reported 19 drones crossed its border, with Prime Minister Donald Tusk saying NATO jets downed four as Russia denied involvement and a Polish official said the drones came from the direction of Ukraine; Tusk also said Poland expects its first F-35s next year toward a planned 32 by 2030.
