Overview

• Russia launched one of its largest combined attacks on Ukraine’s energy network using missiles and drones, with Moscow saying Kinzhal hypersonic missiles were employed.
• DTEK reported power restored to more than 800,000 Kyiv residents, though localized outages persist and repair work remains difficult in regions such as Odesa, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Sumy.
• Ukrainian authorities said at least 20 people were wounded in Kyiv and two energy workers were killed in Chernihiv during the strikes.
• Zelensky said he spoke with President Donald Trump about strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and energy resilience, adding that the United States is considering ways to deepen cooperation.
• Zelensky also consulted Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and welcomed signals from UK, French and German leaders on moving toward using immobilised Russian sovereign assets and expanding procurement initiatives like PURL.
