Ukraine Reports About 1,850 Russian Dead in a Single Day

Kyiv’s tally, which puts cumulative Russian personnel losses near 1.58 million, underscores heavy battlefield attrition alongside persistent gaps in independent verification.

Overview

  • The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported roughly 1,850 Russian personnel killed in the previous 24 hours and published a cumulative estimate of about 1,578,450 Russian personnel losses since February 2022.
  • Ukraine also listed detailed equipment losses from the prior day, including tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, air-defence systems, tactical drones and hundreds of supply and specialty vehicles.
  • The command said fighting remained intense, recording 193 clashes, 83 airstrikes that dropped 281 guided bombs, thousands of kamikaze-drone attacks and more than 3,200 shelling incidents across multiple sectors of the front.
  • Independent open-source counts and institutional assessments differ sharply from Kyiv’s totals: BBC/Mediazona documented a name-based minimum of about 276,113 Russian dead while NATO and other analysts have given much higher aggregate estimates, and Russia has not published comparable official figures.
  • Heavy daily losses are straining manpower and materiel on both sides, concentrating combat around Kostyantynivka, Pokrovske and Huliaipole and creating operational and humanitarian pressures that could shape battlefield tempo and recruitment and logistics needs in coming weeks.
