Ukraine Reports 172 Frontline Clashes, Heavy Fighting Concentrated Near Pokrovsk

Kyiv updated its tally of Russian losses to an official figure that is not independently verified.

Overview

  • The General Staff said total Russian personnel losses since February 2022 reached about 1,140,860, including 960 in the past day, and listed cumulative equipment losses such as 11,305 tanks, 23,514 armoured fighting vehicles and 34,089 artillery systems.
  • Commanders reported 172 combat engagements in the last 24 hours, with 55 assault actions repelled on the Pokrovsk axis and sustained activity on the Kupiansk, Lyman and Kostiantynivka directions.
  • Russian forces conducted 80 airstrikes, dropped 177 guided bombs, carried out 4,323 shellings including 98 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 5,671 kamikaze drones over the day.
  • Ukrainian aviation, missile troops and artillery struck four areas of enemy personnel and equipment concentration and hit two enemy artillery systems.
  • Poland’s Operational Command said Polish and allied fighters were scrambled and air defences set to the highest readiness in response to Russian long-range aviation striking Ukraine.
