Ukraine Repels Heavy Assaults Around Pokrovsk, Confirms Strike on Saratov Oil Refinery

The Russian campaign has pivoted toward Pokrovsk, making that sector the day’s most active front.

Overview

  • Ukraine reported 162 combat engagements over the previous day, including 68 assaults repelled on the Pokrovsk axis, and by midday logged 83 new clashes with 32 in that sector.
  • The 7th Rapid Response Corps said it is clearing northern Pokrovsk and prevented Russian forces from severing the Pokrovsk–Rodynske road, describing nearby Mirnohrad as tense but not critical.
  • Commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said Ukrainian units are increasing pressure on the Dobropillia salient to force Russia to disperse forces away from Pokrovsk.
  • ISW assessed that Russia has deprioritized operations near Kostyantynivka to focus on taking Pokrovsk and Mirnohrad, a shift reflected in intensified assaults and high Russian losses reported in the area.
  • The General Staff confirmed a strike that ignited a fire at Russia’s Saratov refinery and reported hits on logistics targets in occupied Luhansk, as Ukraine’s grid operator lifted scheduled outages nationwide but warned of localized blackouts after Russian attacks.
