Ukraine Logs 255 Clashes as Drone Barrage Cuts Power in Two Regions

  • According to Ukraine's military, Russian forces launched one missile and 16 air strikes, dropped 66 guided bombs, used 2,353 kamikaze drones, and conducted 2,363 shellings that day.
  • On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian forces said they neutralized 165 Russian personnel and destroyed equipment including two tanks, three armored vehicles and eight trucks.
  • Zaporizhzhia suffered a region-wide blackout after a mass drone strike but power was restored by about 05:00, the regional utility reported, with residents urged to limit heavy electricity use.
  • Dnipropetrovsk authorities said a critical facility was damaged, partial outages persisted, school holidays were extended to Jan. 9, and air defenses downed 31 drones over the region.
