Overview
- Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 219 combat engagements on January 11 and reported 53 airstrikes, 151 guided bombs, 2,941 artillery attacks and 5,273 strike drones used by Russia.
- Fighting remained intense on January 12, with 146 engagements by late evening and the heaviest pressure around Pokrovsk and Huliaipil, including 26 attacks near Pokrovsk and 33 clashes on the Huliaipil axis.
- Grid operator Ukrenergo said overnight drone attacks left consumers without electricity in at least seven regions, with emergency repairs under way and nationwide consumption limits still in place.
- Rail operations were disrupted after strikes on infrastructure, wounding a locomotive driver and assistant and forcing delays or reroutes for more than 60 trains, according to Ukrzaliznytsia.
