Ukraine Logs 154 Battles in a Day as Fighting Concentrates on Pokrovsk

Kyiv says the tempo reflects a fluid frontline centered on the contested Donetsk hub.

Overview

  • Ukraine’s General Staff reported 154 engagements on November 4, with roughly a third on the Pokrovsk axis in areas including Shakhove, Mirnograd and Pokrovsk itself.
  • The military said Russian forces launched one missile strike and 51 airstrikes, dropped 86 guided bombs, conducted 4,618 shelling incidents including 133 from MLRS, and employed 5,978 kamikaze drones in the 24-hour period.
  • Ukraine confirmed overnight strikes on Russia’s Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorod refinery in Kstovo and the Sterlitamak petrochemical plant in Bashkortostan, saying damage assessments are ongoing.
  • The General Staff estimated Russian personnel losses at about 900 for the previous day, while noting continuing defensive actions and counterattacks across multiple sectors.
  • CSIS data cited by Sky News indicate Russia launched more than 44,000 Shahed-type drones at Ukraine in the first ten months of 2025, with about 64% intercepted as the volume strains air defenses.
