Overview

• Ukraine’s General Staff reported 143 combat clashes on August 22, citing one missile strike, 95 airstrikes, 174 guided bombs, 5,417 loitering munitions, and 5,197 artillery rounds including 73 from MLRS.
• Pokrovsk saw the heaviest fighting on August 22 with defenders stopping 38 assaults, and as of 16:00 on August 23 Russian forces had attempted 23 more advances in that sector.
• By 16:00 on August 23, the General Staff counted 71 clashes for the day with active fighting across seven sectors including Lyman, Novopavlivka, Kupiansk, Toretsk, Kramatorsk, and Southern Slobozhanshchyna.
• Ukrainian air defenses said they shot down 36 of 49 drones launched since the evening of August 22.
• Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported six settlements cleared on the Pokrovsk front, and National Guard chief Oleksandr Pivnenko said Russian forces are mounting dozens of infantry assaults daily with heavy personnel and equipment losses.
