Ukraine Fends Off 371-Strong Russian Drone and Missile Barrage, Strikes Russian Airfields

Overview

  • Russian forces unleashed 363 Shahed and decoy drones alongside two Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles and six Kalibr cruise missiles in the June 27–28 overnight assault.
  • Ukraine’s integrated air defenses shot down 217 assets and jammed 148 more, neutralizing 365 of 371 incoming threats, according to the Air Force press service.
  • Kyiv’s long-range drones destroyed two Su-34 fighter-bombers and damaged two others at the Marinovka airfield over 560 miles southeast of Moscow, the General Staff reported.
  • The Security Service of Ukraine said its drone strike on Crimea’s Kirovske airfield destroyed Mi-8, Mi-26, and Mi-28 helicopters as well as a Pantsir-S1 air-defense system.
  • A separate Russian drone attack on Odesa killed two civilians and wounded 14, highlighting the enduring humanitarian toll as peace efforts remain stalled.
