Ukraine Evacuee Count Nears 108,000 as Compulsory Child Evacuations Ordered

Officials ordered compulsory child evacuations in selected frontline localities, with reception capacity and support services expanding.

Overview

  • Since June 1 through October 9, nearly 108,000 people have been evacuated from frontline regions, including about 13,000 children and roughly 3,700 people with limited mobility.
  • Donetsk Oblast accounts for more than 77,000 evacuees, including nearly 8,000 children, representing the largest share of departures.
  • The Coordinating Headquarters approved regional decisions to carry out compulsory evacuation of children from specified areas of the Kramatorsk community and Kupiansk district.
  • Twenty transit points are operating across Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Volyn, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia, with comprehensive services available in Pavlohrad, Voloske and Lozova.
  • Evacuees receive a ₴10,800 cash grant along with food, hygiene kits and medical, legal and psychological assistance, while 1,095 temporary accommodation places are in use and Kyiv has been directed to open a transit center.
