Ukraine Downs Most of 115-Drone Russian Salvo as Kyiv Confirms Hits on Taganrog Plant, Prymorsk Depot

  • Ukraine’s Air Force reported neutralizing 96 of 115 Russian strike drones launched on the night of Jan. 16–17, with impacts recorded at multiple sites as some UAVs penetrated defenses.
  • Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed damage at the Atlant Aero facility in Taganrog, citing hits to the UAV final assembly shop, two production shops, and the administrative building.
  • Kyiv said an ammunition depot of Russia’s 76th Airborne Assault Division in occupied Prymorsk was struck on Jan. 16 and that the strike reached its target, with the extent of damage under assessment.
  • Officials in Sumy region reported more than 40 Russian attacks between Jan. 15–16 that killed one person and injured 11, as a Russian drone also hit a Ukrposhta vehicle and a separate strike damaged a post office in Zaporizhzhia.
  • Russian authorities said a drone hit a residential high-rise in Ryazan, injuring two people, as they reported intercepting dozens of drones over several regions overnight.
