Overview
- National Bank of Ukraine put the Magura commemorative coin into circulation on December 12 with online sales set to begin on December 16 via the NBU numismatic shop and partner banks.
- The Magura coin is a 5-hryvnia piece with a mintage of up to 75,000 in souvenir packaging, featuring a stylized USV, a scene of a Su-30’s destruction, the HUR emblem, and a depiction of the Slavic figure Magura.
- The SBU and NBU presented a 5-hryvnia ‘Pavutina’ coin with a planned mintage of 75,000 in souvenir packaging, marking the FPV drone operation carried out earlier this year.
- Designs on the ‘Pavutina’ coin include a Trojan horse with a truck silhouette to signify covert drone transport and a reverse showing a drone with the inscription “117 FPV drones” alongside a strategic aircraft silhouette.
- SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk hailed the honor for the service, while prior reporting on the June 1 operation cites 41 aircraft struck across four airfields and Russian losses estimated at over $7 billion.
