Ukraine Confirms Strikes on Russian Refinery and Petrochemical Plant as Fighting Intensifies Near Pokrovsk

Kyiv casts the cross-border strikes as an effort to sap Russia’s war economy.

  • Radiy Khabirov, the acting head of Bashkortostan, called the Sterlitamak incident a “terrorist attack by two UAVs” and claimed both drones were downed with debris falling in an industrial area.

  • The General Staff counted 144 combat engagements on November 4, about one third near Pokrovsk, and reported Ukrainian forces neutralized 107 Russian fighters there and destroyed multiple drones and vehicles.
  • Ukraine’s military estimated roughly 900 Russian personnel losses over the previous day and released updated cumulative figures for Russian equipment losses.
