Overview

• Ukraine’s meteorological service reports mostly cloudy skies with rain across nearly all regions on Sept. 30, with locally heavy showers in Odesa and Mykolaiv.
• Surface ground frosts of 0–5°C are forecast overnight Oct. 2 in western regions except Zakarpattia and overnight Oct. 3 in western, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Kyiv regions, classified as Level I danger (yellow).
• Air frosts of 0–3°C are expected overnight Oct. 2–3 in Prykarpattia and on Oct. 3 in Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr, designated Level II danger (orange).
• Winds are predominantly easterly at 7–12 m/s with gusts up to 15–20 m/s in central, southern and eastern oblasts, with daytime highs of 9–14°C and up to 17°C in Zakarpattia and the far south.
• Wet snow is reported in the high Carpathians with temperatures around 0°C, including −3°C recorded on Mount Pip Ivan on Sept. 30.
