UK Zoo Attempts to Curb Profanity from Notorious Swearing Parrots

Eight foul-mouthed African grey parrots integrated with larger flock in hopes of language improvement.

Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in the UK has eight African grey parrots known for their profanity, five of which gained notoriety in 2020 for teaching each other to swear while in quarantine.
The park's officials have decided to integrate these eight parrots with 92 non-swearing birds in the hopes that the swearing parrots will pick up more appropriate language from the rest of the flock.
Steve Nichols, the park's chief executive, acknowledges the risk of the plan, stating that they could potentially end up with 100 swearing parrots.
Despite the parrots' foul language, Nichols reports that they have proven to be popular with the public, with more visitors swearing at the parrots than the other way around.
The park has posted signs warning visitors about the potential for foul language from the parrots.
