UK Woman's Twins Born 22 Days Apart in Rare Medical Phenomenon

Kayleigh Doyle's second twin survived despite initial doubts, leading her to volunteer in neonatal care.

A UK woman, Kayleigh Doyle, experienced the rare phenomenon of giving birth to twins 22 days apart, with the first baby, Arlo, being stillborn.
The second twin, Astro, was born prematurely via C-section and despite medical challenges, including a hole in the heart and retinopathy, he survived and is now thriving at 2 years old.
Doctors were baffled by the significant gap between the births, a situation they had not encountered before, and which Kayleigh Doyle has not found another instance of in the UK.
Following the traumatic experience, Doyle channeled her grief into positive action by training as a volunteer for the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to support other parents facing similar challenges.
The ordeal has been emotionally challenging for Doyle, who had to navigate the grief of losing one child while raising another, but she has found solace in helping others through her volunteer work.
