UK Weather Turns Wet as Yellow Rain Warnings Issued for Wales and South-West England

The shift from high-pressure systems to low-pressure dominance marks the end of the UK's prolonged warm spell, which saw record-breaking temperatures and dry conditions.
The heavy rainfall is expected to bring localized flooding, transport disruptions, and possible hail and thunderstorms, particularly affecting western parts of the UK.
Snowfall is forecast for mountain tops in Scotland and potentially the northern Pennines, though lower elevations will remain unaffected.
The rain is anticipated to provide relief from wildfire risks, with the UK having already recorded 380 wildfires this year, more than double the number during the same period in 2022.
