Overview
- £22.5 million will fund extracurricular activities in up to 400 schools over three years, covering sports, arts, music and debating.
- High-poverty youth clubs receive £30.5 million to upgrade facilities with gym equipment, climbing walls and other community spaces.
- An additional £7.5 million expands the Uniformed Youth Fund to create more places in Scouts, Guides and Volunteer Police Cadets.
- Twelve local authorities will pilot the £8 million Local Youth Transformation programme to develop tailored out-of-school offers in deprived areas.
- A national youth strategy is due this autumn to set out the government’s long-term vision for rebuilding and sustaining youth services.
